At Sussex Chauffeur Company we’re never one to shy away from a celebration and like many of you all over the UK and across the world, we’ve have been super excited for one of the most anticipated days of the year, the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle in St Georges Chapel.
We love nothing more than taking customers to special events, and this was one special event we really hoped to be attending. Luckily, we had a large group who wanted us to take them to Windsor in our new Mercedes V-Class people carrier, so we were extremely excited to attend the special day! Not only is Prince Harry our favourite cheeky royal but he and Meghan seem very much in love and have really captured the hearts of the nation. It’s a big day that will no doubt go down in history so to be there was a great experience for everyone.
When the day finally arrived we jumped in the car and off to Windsor we went. As soon as we arrived we caught sight of many happy crowds and it was clear everyone in attendance (roughly 500,000 people) were in great spirits and ready for the nuptials. We dropped our customers off and parked up the cars in good view of the castle, before catching some of the highlights of the day whilst waiting for them to return.
It was an absolutely beautiful and unforgettable day, with many visitors from all over the world in attendance. The weather was great with sunshine for most of the day and not a spot of rain, who could ask for more? All that was missing was a genuine invitation to the reception!
The New Duke & Duchess of Sussex
Not only are we super happy for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but we are extremely proud to be home to their new titles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! What a great choice of titles and promotion for the beautiful county of Sussex! The Duke of Sussex title has not been used since the death of the previous Duke of Sussex, Prince Augustus Frederick way back in 1843 so we think it was definitely about time we had our own Duke and Duchess. Not only this, but Harry and Meghan Markle are a great choice of Royals to represent our wonderful county, home to the city of Brighton & Hove, the South Downs and some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside. To top it all off, Sussex has never had its own duchess before, making Meghan Markle the very first Duchess of Sussex.
We hear they have been formally invited to attend the Royal Pavillion in Brighton, so we also look forward to welcoming them to our hometown very soon!
